Annotated summary #Draft 1
Environmental Impacts of Natural Gas (2014). The Union of Concerned Scientists. https://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/timeline/environment.
In the article, “Environmental Impacts of Natural Gas”, the
author from Union of Concerned Scientist has addressed the environmental impacts from
combustion of natural gas. The burning of natural gas has caused several
environmental issues such as air pollution and the effects on land use and
wildlife. The author mentioned the burning of natural gas has produced nitrogen
oxides which are harmful pollutants. The pollutants have caused health issues
such as “asthma, bronchitis, lung cancer, and heart disease” to many of the
people in America. Exposure to these harmful pollutants can lead to respiratory
health conditions.
On the land use and wildlife aspect, the author mentioned
that the building of the power plant for burning of natural gas has harmed the
ecosystem and affected wildlife habitats. The construction process has allowed
harmful pollutants to be released into nearby streams. It resulted in aquatic
contamination from chemical spills. In addition, the reduction of habitats has
affected wildlife.
This article has provided our team useful information for
our research project in terms of the effects of burning natural gas. It has
affected the environment significantly, which will be related to using plants
as an alternative way of producing electrical energy as part of our research
project.
Dear Jin Han,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this helpful annotated summary that can focus on the natural gas brings the impact to the natural.
You have mentioned the natural gas can effect the environment and human's health condition. These information will be helpful and as a supportive evidence that finite resource will cause negative effects. Besides, I think you should write "has addressed" instead of "has address", be mind about the language.
Best regards,
Terry.
Dear Jin Han,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing on the environmental effects of natural gases. I agree that the burning of natural gases has lead to an increase in environmental pollution, and this will greatly impact future generations. As earthlings that depend on natural resources from mother earth, it is crucial that we preserve and protect the environment for our future earthlings. I am glad that this article has provided you with information to share with the others.
Thank you.
Sincerely yours
Herman
